The Inline Pilot: Proven Ignition in Harsh Environments

At Profire, we lead the way in combustion technology innovation. Our mission is to create purpose-built automation and safety control solutions you love to use. We aim to provide combustion technology that is efficient and reliable. One such product is the Inline Pilot, a burner ignition system that prioritizes safety, efficiency, reliability, and ease of installation. Burner pilots like the Profire Inline Pilot are just one critical component for reliable burner & combustion management.

What are Burner Pilots?

Burner pilots ignite the main burner in your industrial heating systems. There are two kinds of pilots, standing (continuous) and intermittent (interrupted). A pilot can hold a continuous flame, so you can safely get your system back up and running when your burner extinguishes unexpectedly due to fluctuations in fuel pressure, air supply, or other operational conditions. Or it can hold an interrupted flame, which only lights when needed.

There are pros and cons to both types. Choosing a continuous flame prioritizes performance over emissions. A continuous flame pilot minimizes downtime, allowing the main burner to reignite quickly. In contrast, an interrupted flame pilot necessitates a purge cycle for reignition, leading to increased downtime. Beyond performance, continuous flame pilots are cost-effective as they eliminate the need for a main flame detection system.

A burner pilot adds safety, efficiency, and reliability to your industrial heating system. They offer a dependable ignition for operators, and prevent gas accumulation, helping you avoid hazards. The better the burner pilot, the better control you have over your system’s ignition.

The Inline Pilot

The Profire Inline Pilot

Our Inline Pilot is meticulously designed with the end-user in mind, prioritizing efficiency, reliability, and ease of installation. This reliable industrial pilot holds a US Patent (No. 10907829), underscoring a unique and innovative approach to ignition.

The Inline Pilot is crafted for operational efficiency in extreme conditions, both external and internal. With this burner pilot, you get reliable lighting under harsh conditions thanks to its heavy-duty stainless steel nozzle construction.

Boasting Near Field Ionization (NFI) Technology, the Inline Pilot merges smaller flames together at the nozzle opening, enhancing the overall flame quality through precise interaction with the internal flame rod.

Cutting-Edge Features

The key feature of the Inline Pilot is its reliable lighting in extreme conditions. The pilot’s performance is further elevated by the NFI Technology, improving ignition reliability with enhanced flame quality. Additionally, the pilot includes a single, easily removable, internal Kanthal flame rod housed in a specially crafted combustion nozzle for efficient flame detection.

How the Inline Pilot Works

Our patented Inline Pilot design (US Patent No. 10907829) ensures stable flame anchoring through its inline structure, optimized internal diffuser, and welded shell nozzle assembly. The base hub allows for an upstream mixer and inline flame rod base connection via two threaded input ports.

The Inline Pilot is engineered to generate negative pressure within the nozzle to automatically draw in air when reinforcement of the flame is required. Installing the Inline Pilot is made simple with a secure bayonet-style locking mount.

The Benefits of the Inline Pilot

The Profire Inline Pilot is a customer-centric combustion solution built for operational efficiency. The benefits of the Inline Pilot are its repeatability & reliability, ease of use, and innovative design, making it ideal for industrial heating applications.

Repeatability & Reliability

Engineered for superior efficiency, reliability, and simplicity in industrial heating applications, the Inline Pilot delivers a flame you can count on. It’s designed to produce consistent performance with reliable ignition, even in the most extreme conditions, operating at pressures as low as 1 psi.

The heavy-duty stainless-steel construction and optimized internal components combine to provide dependable performance for your industrial heating needs. The durable stainless-steel encasement for the ignition wire shields it from flame and allows it to operate effectively in high-heat environments.

Ease of Use

Designed with the end-user in mind, the Inline Pilot’s plug-and-play system features a bayonet-style locking mount for quick and secure setup. The Inline Pilot can be customized in length to fit different applications, making it suitable for a wide range of heating systems—from small to large BTU heaters.

Adjustment of the ignition or flame rod is not required, making the Inline Pilot our most straightforward pilot to install. The design minimizes the need for interventions, providing you with a simplified burner pilot solution for your industrial heating needs.

Innovative Design

By utilizing Near Field Ionization (NFI) technology, the Inline Pilot combines smaller flames into a larger, more stable flame right at the nozzle opening. This innovation enhances the Inline Pilot’s efficiency and flame quality in your application, underpinning its outstanding operational performance. Incorporating this innovative design into your application will enhance the efficiency of your operations and minimize downtime.

Why You Should Choose the Inline Pilot for Your Industrial Heating Applications

With the Inline Pilot you get a low maintenance system that’s reliable, repeatable, and efficient. It’s an advanced burner pilot system that keeps pushing combustion technology forward, innovating industrial heating with incredible benefits in efficiency and reliability but most importantly, safety.

Customizable to your system length and factory set for ease of use, the Inline Pilot takes care of your ignition so you can focus on your operations.
